TFEC Online Grant Application Seminar

Enhancing Communities Lunch Series: Food & Thought for Busy Nonprofit Professionals

This program of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC), Temple University´s Nonprofit Evaluation Services and Training Center (NEST) and Millersville University´s Nonprofit Resource Network offers you a convenient way to learn about important and relevant issues affecting nonprofits while enjoying lunch with your colleagues in the community.

The program provides more than a chance to passively listen to presentations. We want you to be part of an interactive process of discovering new talents, opportunities and resources in the community -- all while making the community more aware of your organization´s work. Each session will include:

-Lunch and networking

-A call for announcements about upcoming events, training workshops and funding opportunities

-A brief workshop on a topic germane to nonprofit capacity building or community-based issues. At specially designed events, the program will include an extended workshop.

-A presentation from a community partner about their agency and services

The lunch itself is just the beginning. The program´s website is designed to become a dynamic community bulletin board to allow participants to continue the conversation between sessions. American Evaluation Association Empowerment Evaluation Webinar

Dates: Feb. 21 & 23, 2012 (Tuesday and Thursday)
Time: 3- 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $75 for AEA members, $100 for non-members and $40 for students

Empowerment evaluation produces both a learning organization and measurable outcomes. This webinar introduce you to the steps of empowerment evaluation and tools to facilitate the approach.

Day 1: You will learn principles guiding empowerment evaluation, such as improvement, capacity building and accountability.
Day 2: You will learn the use of basic self-monitoring tools such as establishing a baseline, creating goals, specifying benchmarks, and comparing goals and benchmarks with actual performance.

The presenter is David Fetterman, chief executive officer of Fetterman & Associates, an international evaluation consulting firm. He has 25 years experience at Stanford University in administration, the School of Education and the School of Medicine.
